ELIGIBILITY: JUNIORS; Current USJI, USJA, USJF or Foreign National membership cards. No competitors under six (6) will be permitted. A COPY of proof of age and membership must be sent with application or shown at time of registration to be eligible to compete.

SENIORS; Current USJI or Foreign National membership cards. A COPY must either be sent with application or shown at registration to be eligible to compete.

RULES The tournament will use the Modified Double Elimination System. All Junior matches will be three (3) minutes. IJF time rules will apply to Senior divisions III-M and I-F, other Senior divisions will be three (3) minutes. If an advertised Junior division has 21 or more competitors, it will be divided into two divisions and awards will be given in both divisions. Junior contestants, ages 13 through 16 will be allowed Shime-Waza but not allowed Kansetsu-waza on Saturday. No Dan grades allowed in Junior Divisions. If Junior boys 13 thru 16, who competed on Saturday elect to compete on Sunday, they will compete in division II category.

No late fee will be charged. All non-black belt Women and Junior Girls who wish to compete in the Senior Women’s divisions and Men Masters must complete the certificate regarding non black-belt contestants.

Awards *Individual Awards: Three trophies will be awarded in any division of five (5) or more
*Competitors; two (2) trophies in a division of four competitors; one (1) trophy per division of two (2) or three (3) competitors. A certificate will be awarded to all other place winners, no cup points credited.
*Cup Points: First Place ; 5; Second Place ; 3; Third Place ; 1.
*Junior, Senior & International Senior Cups: Cups will be awarded to clubs accumulating the most points.
*Challenge Cup: Will be awarded to the U.S. or Canada for most points accumulated on both days and will be awarded to the top scoring club in that country
*
Competitors must be in Judo Gi for award presentation.
ENTRIES: All regular entries must be postmarked by May 15, 2001.
Mail entries to: 2000 AM-CAN, P.O. Box 539, Amherst, New York, 14226-0539. Late entries will be accepted at the tournament registration and weigh-ins.
ENTRY FEE: $35.00 entry fee must be postmarked by May 15, 2001. Late entry registration at tournament is $50.00. All entry fees must be payable in U.S. CURRENCY ONLY. Make checks or money order payable to AM-CAN JUDO. (Canadians ; Postal Money order or certified banks check in U.S. funds.)
DATE & TIME Boys and girls in the 6 through 16-year-old divisions will compete on Saturday, May 26th, 2001. Men and women will compete on Sunday, May 27th, 2001. Tournament on both days will begin at 9:00 A.M.
REGISTRATION /Weigh ins All juniors will weigh-in on Friday, May 25th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. All seniors will weigh-in on Saturday, May 26th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Registration and weigh-in at the Holiday Inn.
PARENT & COACH RECEPTION
on Friday, May 25th, 2001 at 9:00 PM for the purpose of welcoming parents and coaches and introducing our special guests. (Cash bar will be available for those of age and inclination,)

NO ONE UNDER 21 WILL BE ADMITTED.
REFRESHMENTS: Food and drink will be available at the tournament site at the snack bar.
OPENING CEREMONIES Opening ceremonies will start at 9:00 AM sharp both days. Contestants should be in their Gi for a brief line-up and introductions.

THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE ANY
CHANGE NECESSARY IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CONTESTANTS,
OR TO REJECT ANY FORMS THAT CONTAIN FALSE INFORMATION.

 

 

THE USE OF THE NEW BLUE GI’S IS ENCOURAGED BUT NOT MANDITORY
UNDER CURRENT IJF RULES FOR THIS TOURNAMENT.
