| A day long referee workshop, which will
entail a current review of I J F Contest Rules with clarifications and interpretations,
referee philosophy, skill development, score analysis, referee decorum and protocol,
refined expected behaviors, procedure drills and videotape score analysis. Coaches and
competitors are welcome to attend. Participants may bring their Judogi (if you wish) along with paper and pen, a copy of the rules and your questions. The AM-CAN Committee will provide a complimentary lunch at noon for those who advise Mr. Scherer that they will be attending the Workshop. The regular referee meeting will also be held at the Alumni Arena from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Friday, May 26th. Referee meetings will also be conducted on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th at 8:00am. Sessions are open to all Referees and Candidates. Those wishing to be Candidates must be Shodan or higher and must inform Mr. Scherer by letter of intent. Candidates will bring 2 passport photos (Color and in referee uniform, a copy of their regional referee certificate (dated no less than one year previous), their current USJI membership card and a three year record of all tournaments worked and clinics attended. Candidates must also attend all meetings, take a written examination and referee for the full duration of the Tournament. A $20.00 testing fee will apply and successful candidates will pay a $10.00 certification fee. |
